Cozy Boarding for Dogs and Cats

You’re excited to be going on vacation, but you worry about leaving your pet behind. You want to feel assured that they’ll be well cared for in your absence. At Country Club Animal Hospital in Miami, we have a staff member on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week to watch over our boarding guests. Therefore, when pre-approved, you can pick up or drop off your pet outside of our normal business hours, and our attending staff member will be happy to help you.

Pet Boarding Accommodations

We want your pet to feel as secure and comfortable as possible during their stay with us. Our accommodations include:

  • A fully air-conditioned boarding wing
  • Plenty of clean, soft bedding
  • A prescription gastrointestinal diet to prevent stomach upset (please bring food from home if your pet has special dietary needs, and include clear instructions)
  • Dogs are always taken out for walks three times per day, weather permitting

If your pet takes medication, please bring it in a clearly labeled container with any additional instructions, and we’ll be glad to administer it for a small daily fee.

Boarding Requirements

All of our pet boarding guests must be up-to-date on their vaccinations before coming to our facility. If your pet is not our patient, please bring an invoice or other document confirming that they’ve had their vaccinations within the year. Our required vaccines and tests include:

Dogs

  • Rabies
  • Distemper/ Hepatitis/ Parvo/ Parainfluenza/ Coronavirus
  • Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • Negative fecal test within the year

Cats

  • Rabies
  • Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis/ Calicivirus/ Panleukopenia
  • Negative Feline Leukemia/ FIV test
  • Negative fecal test within the year

Unlike many other animal hospitals in Miami, South Miami and Coral Gables, we also accept non-neutered dogs as boarding guests. If you believe that your pet will become rowdy or destructive, please ask your veterinarian about giving your pet a mild sedative. If your pet has fleas or flea dirt on their skin, we will need to administer a Capstar flea adulticide (for a small fee) to ensure that no cross-contamination occurs with other guests. Additionally, pets with ticks will receive a tick adulticide and a special bath (at additional expense), no exceptions.

Overnight Monitoring

Pets that are ill or recovering from surgery need to stay overnight at our hospital for close monitoring. Since we always have a staff member on-site, you’re more than welcome to call after-hours to check in on your pet. We know how stressful it is to leave your companion under these circumstances. Therefore, we are happy to inform our clients about their pets’ progress after hours and ease their concerns.
